Until January 2023 Thom Bindels will be part of our team as an intern. As a student at the Eindhoven Technical University he showed his passion for structural design, parametric modeling and sustainability. Not a different decision to welcome him. .
We are looking forward him to strengthen our team.

Vincent has been an intern for 6 month showing great input on all the projects. We are very happy to welcome him as an employee of the SID team. He will work parttime next to his study at the Eindhoven Technical University.

The Edge Amsterdam West dome is nominated for the National Steel Price 2022. The price will be awarded on 4 October..

Vincent will start as an intern for the next 6 months. He will work on modeling details of the elevated light rail system in South Korea and parametric designs for BRNO train station.
We will also start with him to setup the digital flow for our modular timber buildings.
Great to have him on board.

Building up stages for “Vrienden van Amstel” Live 2022 again for nothing.

A lot of respect for a company like InterStage BV that, despite the uncertainty whether it would continue, has built everything up to the last detail for “Vrienden van Amstel”. Unfortunately, the spectacle does not take place and had to be demolished immediately.

SIDstudio is involved as structural engineer for the construction of the so-called Steelspan (stage) construction. A modular building system developed by Interstage and SIDstudio.

Team Gateways has won the selection to make a design study for a possible canopy above the entrance of the bicycle storage Stationsplein Amsterdam CS.
The bicycle storage is currently under construction, as part of the project “De Entree” at Prins Hendrikkade in Amsterdam. The current access to the bicycle storage is designed without a sheltering roof. It is possible that in the future a canopy will be necessary for safety and availability reasons.

Dutch Architects Association (BNA) has awarded design practice thonik’s self-designed and built studio, the winner of ‘Icon and Identity’ category in the Best Building Award 2021.

The jury commented: “It’s taut graphic design makes this building a sculpture in the city. Inside are pleasant spaces with impressive views and a surprising restaurant by a young sushi chef. Details like the bespoke staircase at the center of the building contribute to a unique spatial experience. The jury finds this building a ‘pearl’ and a true icon”.
